Walaaona Bahraini (walaaona-bahraini.com) is a non-profit student patriotic project that allows Bahraini citizens to express their loyalty by writing their names on a digital Bahrain flag.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following data only when you voluntarily choose to participate:

When signing the digital flag:

• First name and last name
• Region in Bahrain (e.g. Manama, Muharraq)
• Date and time of signing

When submitting a "Bahraini Voice":

• Full name
• Patriotic message or quote
• Email address (optional — never published publicly)

We never collect: National ID, phone number, home address, payment information, or any sensitive data.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only for the following purposes:

• Display your name on the digital Bahrain flag
• Allow you to share a personalised flag image on social media
• Show aggregated public statistics (total participants and regions)

We never use your data for: commercial or advertising purposes.

We never sell your data to any third party under any circumstances.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under Article 4 of Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law No. 30 of 2018, our legal basis for processing your data is:

• Explicit Consent: By entering your name and clicking "Register Your Name", you voluntarily consent to your name and region being published on this website.
• Legitimate Interest: Maintaining a campaign's digital record of civic participation.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) databases, protected by TLS/SSL encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest.
• Google Firebase complies with international security standards including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and SOC 3.
• Server-side Firebase Security Rules prevent any unauthorized person from modifying or deleting data.
• Only the website operator can access the admin panel, via verified Google Authentication.

6. Data Retention

Your data is stored permanently as part of the campaign's digital signatures record, unless you request deletion. Upon a deletion request, it will be processed within 30 days.

7. Your Rights Under Bahrain Law

Under Personal Data Protection Law No. 30 of 2018, you have the following rights:

• Right of Access: View the personal data we hold about you
• Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure: Request permanent deletion of your data
• Right to Object: Object to any processing of your data
• Right to Restriction: Request restriction of processing

8. Data Disclosure

We will not share your data with any third party except in the following legally required situations:

• If required by competent Bahraini government authorities in accordance with applicable law

This website does not use cookies to track or analyse your behaviour. It only uses browser local storage (localStorage) to save your preferences such as selected language, and to prevent spam submissions.
